Summary
This course is designed for the new AutoCAD MEP user who requires comprehensive training in the Plumbing module. It incorporates the features, tools, and techniques for creating and editing plumbing designs with AutoCAD MEP.
Hands-on exercises throughout the courseware explore how to create 3D production drawings while designing in 2D.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed for the new user of AutoCAD MEP. Professionals from large, medium, and small engineering and architecture-engineering firms. Building owners, facility engineers, as well as contractors can also benefit from using this product. It is suitable for commercial, residential, and institutional design and construction.
Objectives
The primary objective of this course is to teach students the basic tools and techniques necessary for professional plumbing plan creating using AutoCAD MEP.
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Set design preferences in plumbing tables and drafting settings.
- Lay out schematic plumbing diagrams.
- Place plumbing fixtures and pipes in drawings.
- Automatically size pipes.
- Label and annotate drawings.
- Create schedule tables for pipes and fixtures.
Prerequisites
It is recommended that the student have a working knowledge of:
- Microsoft® Windows® 2000, XP, or Vista
- Recent version of Autodesk® Architectural Desktop or AutoCAD Architecture.
- Drafting, design, or engineering experience.
