Summary

This hands-on class is a journey into the basic functionality of 2D design in KeyCreator. This class covers all of the two-dimensional geometry creation and detailing techniques including, but not limited to, creating lines, arcs, circles, splines, points, dimensions, text, notes, features, fasteners, wire frame assemblies, and plane / construction plane methodologies.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for Mechanical Designers/Drafters as well as Engineering Managers who have not used CAD before or those who have used CAD but never Cadkey or KeyCreator. This class is also appropriate for new hires and returning users who need to reacquaint themselves with the software.

Objectives

Students will be exposed to advanced sketching and detailing techniques that will make them more proficient. We recommend 20 to 40 hours of practice after class in order to reinforce these new skills.

Prerequisites

It is recommended that the student have a working knowledge of:

  • Microsoft® Windows® XP, or Microsoft® Windows® Vista.
  • Drafting, design, or engineering experience.
